  • About

MACSEA was established in 1982 as a research & development firm whose focus was primarily on computer automation technology for different operational problems within the maritime industry. It developed an expert machinery health monitoring system (DEXTER Agents) that uses artificial intelligence, diagnostics, and prognostics for the purpose of reducing plant maintenance costs and increasing operating efficiency. This proven innovative technology is currently in use by the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard on over 40 vessels with more installations scheduled through 2005. It is satisfies the Navy's requirement to reduce workload and improve equipment reliability, while technology demands become increasingly more complex within the shipboard machinery plant. This technology is not limited to the marine industry, but is flexible and applicable to any automated machinery plant in any given industry. Through the use of intelligent software agents that are the key to DEXTERs advanced capabilities, this system enhances an operator's existing process control infrastructure by diagnosing existing problems and predicting future failures. It is a workforce multiplier that helps reduce downtime and maintenance costs. Other staff capabilities are conducting in-depth Failure Mode Effects Analysis, developing custom interfaces with a variety of process control software, and performing other integration customization for customers. etc).
