About Us

Formed in 2001, the Alliance grew out of a merger between the Hartford Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1799, and the MetroHartford Economic Growth Council, which focused on economic development leadership.
We are the leading business and economic development organization in the Region.

More than 1,000 businesses, municipalities and organizations are among our membership ranks. We support pro-growth legislation, help local companies expand, assist start-ups, encourage government investment in key infrastructure assets, develop programs for young professionals, and recruit companies from other states to create a presence in the Region.

Our mission is to compete aggressively and successfully for jobs, talent and capital for the Hartford Region while ensuring that the Region is positioned as a premier location for people to live, work and raise families.
