The universe is filled with particles, governed by the invisible forces of attraction that surround us. Simple rules of physics and nature combine to create intricate systems of motion and behavior. In this FREE workshop you will learn to code a particle system and simple physics engine using the web-based Processing programming language. This session only requires a laptop computer & a desire to learn. Some programming experience is helpful, but not required. We will use a web based code editor, so no need to install any software. This event is facilitated by Christian Lemp in partnership with Upward Hartford. What is a particle system? A particle system is a technique in game physics, motion graphics, and computer graphics that uses a large number of very small sprites, 3D models, or other graphic objects to simulate certain kinds of "fuzzy" phenomena, which are otherwise very hard to reproduce with conventional rendering techniques - usually highly chaotic systems, natural phenomena, or processes caused by chemical reactions.
