The Senior Systems Engineer (SSE) will be a primary resource for advanced server and virtualization architecture, implementation of network projects, monitoring/technical support of managed services, and some pre-sales engineering support.  Specifically, the SSE will be responsible for supporting server infrastructure at an advanced/expert level. The qualified applicant will be expected to demonstrate implementation and support of complex network environments and associated technologies.  This individual should possess specific VMware and Windows infrastructure expertise, including the delivery services to external customers.  This position is external customer facing, so communication and customer service skills are extremely important. It is expected that the SSE always represent the company, brand, and offerings in a positive manner.

  • Support Kelser external customers with:
    • Project Delivery
    • Server monitoring
    • Server administration
    • Inbound customer support requests
    • Pre-Sales Engineering
  • Technical Requirements:
    • Virtual Environments
    • OS experience
    • Server/storage architecture and optimization
    • Network Infrastructure
  • Service delivery via excellent communication and customer service
  • Attend and comprehend training
  • Ability to achieve higher level certifications such as MCSE and VCP
  • Accurate time tracking/accounting
  • Stay current and be aware of emerging technologies and products
  • Availability on a scheduled basis for off-hours or on-call assignments
  • Other duties aligned with skillset, as directed by Kelser staff
Requirements
  • MCSE preferred, VCP preferred
  • 8+ years experience with hands-on server support, focused on implementation and administration of complex IT solutions
  • 5+ years experience with AD administration – including forest upgrades
  • 2+ years experience Office 365 migrations
  • 5+ years experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting and administering Exchange, Windows Server
  • 5+ years experience managing and administering complex ESX environments
  • Knowledge of network security concepts, detection/protection technology, penetration testing methods, vulnerabilities assessments, and remediation procedures
  • Expertise with server OS products and related applications, specifically: Windows Server 2008+, VMware and associated tools, Citrix, AD, and Exchange
  • Expertise with advanced virtualized server environments
  • Server monitoring

  • Outcome driven
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project documentation (diagramming, written, etc.)
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
